I'm Back!

It's been a looooong time since I blogged! We had some serious stuff happen to my computer, but it seems to be running again, so I'll try to get you up to date...First up, Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation! It's been three years since the last major revamp, so it's nice to see a little shake-up again. The really nice part about all this is that most of the "new" colors are ones you've been seeing during the last couple of years. Only one brand new color to add to the list, and I think you're going to love it. Ok, I'll quit talking and just show you already!

So,as you can see, Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, and Crushed Curry are returning from a couple years ago. Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Blushing Bride, and Island Indigo are all from 2011-2014 In Colors. So that leaves us Smoky Slate as the new color. I am SO looking forward to meeting this new color!

When does this happen? Not until May 31. You will likely see a few things around the web using these colors since SU demonstrators get to preorder before the general public gets in on the deals! Another reason to think about becoming a demo!

For those of you that are in love with any of the retiring colors, I'd suggest you hurry to order them, since they'll soon be gone. Its always first come, first served! Don't miss out!

Ok, that's it for me today!

Blog Candy Winner...

Today is Oct 31st...which means I get to share the winner's name of my first time blog candy... I didn't have many reply on here, but did have a few email me their entry lists. Thanks to all who played along!

So, drum roll please...! TRICIA MILLER is my winner! My husband drew her name, so it is legitimate! Tricia, please send me an email with your address so I can get your "trio of sticky stuff" off to you!

Now, you're all likely wondering who won the $150 SU prize... You're seriously not going to believe me! It's TRICIA MILLER! And if you would like to go to Sherrill Graff's blog to check out how Tricia's name was drawn, please do so!

Thanks again to all who played along with the Late Night Stampers! It was a fun blog hop. There will be another one in the spring, so check back for more info on that. Until then, happy crafting!

    Happy Friday!

Since I got my hands on the Orchard Harvest DSP, I haven't really had eyes for anything else! Not sure what it is about this color combo, but I absolutely love it!

Not sure what it is with this picture, but it looks like my photos are sliding downhill to the right! Not sure how that happened, but I guess you'll get the gist of it, anyway! I just checked, and IRL it doesn't look like this! Huh... anyways...

So these pics were taken last fall of my two youngest boys on a walk around the pond. Think it's one of our favorite things to do, considering there's always something new to see! Again, an easy to assemble layout, but using all SU!

    Supplies used:
    DSP - Orchard Harvest
CS - early espresso, island indigo
Ribbon - early espresso 1/4" stitched grograin, raspberry ripple 3/8" stitched satin, lucky limeade 3/8" ruffled
Ink - more mustard, old olive, early espresso, cajun craze, raspberry ripple
    Stamps - Wonderfall
Accessories - Autumn Accents Bigz die, Timeless Type Alpha Junior Sizzlets (retired)

Now, since this is the first time I've actually posted something 5 days in a row, I'm pretty pleased! Leave me a message and let me know which of the last 5 days posts is your favorite! Anybody else scrapbook with SU supplies? Leave me a link, so I can come take a peek!

    Have a great day!

    Warm Winter Wishes

So, since I started CASEing out of the new Holiday Catalog, I had to do another one! This card originated on page 18! I love these skates, and using a blender pen to add a little color, just makes them all the more real!

    Supplies used:
CS - early espresso, very vanilla
    Stamps - Winter Memories
Ink - early espresso, cherry cobbler(berries), soft suede(skates)
Ribbon - cherry cobbler 31/2" scalloped tulle, gumball green 1/4" sweater trim
Accessories - snow flurry bigx die, blender pen

    Enjoy your day!

    Thanks A Bunch!

I love to CASE (copy and share everything)! There are just so many amazing crafters out there that showcase some pretty cool/fun/Ihave to do that kinda work! And so, I do it, too. In my own way, sometimes, and in other cases, exactly as I see it!

This is one of those cards that instantly said, "CASE me!" You'll find it on page 30 of the SU Holiday Catalog. I changes up a few things, but the look is generally the same.

So, your challenge for today, is to go and do the same! Find something you love and copy it. Item by item, or even just one thing. whatever it is, find inspiration in someone else's work and enjoy the outcome...I did!

    Supplies used:

CS - island indigo, old olive, very vanilla
    DSP - orchard harvest
Ribbon - early espresso 1/4" stitched grograin
Ink - early espresso, old olive, island indigo (markers)
Stamps - Sanded (retired), Friendship Preserves
Accessories - antique brads, festive paper-piercing pack, piercing mat, paper piercer

    Thanks for looking!

    Technique Tuesday!

This is a card I made using a new-to-me fold! Not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the front panel is flipped over on itself, with the ribbon tied through before adhering it together. I'm not actually sure what this fold is called, but it's an easy one to do! My club girls don't know it yet, but this will be one of the cards we'll be making! I love the masculine feel to it. And that tractor is really a favorite of mine! I've put another photo here to show how the full front looks.

    Products used:
Card Stock - certainly celery, island indigo, very vanilla, basic black
    DSP - first edition specialty
    Ribbon - island indigo3/8" ruffled
Ink - certainly celery, basic black
    Markers - real red
    Stamps - Harvest Blessings
    Accessories - crop-a-dile, blender pen

If you would like to know the measurements for folding, please leave me a message!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Scrapbook layout share...

    Happy Monday everyone!

Thought I'd post a layout I made using all Stampin' Up! supplies... It's of my youngest son, Luke, pictures taken last fall. The papers used here are from the Orchard Harvest DSP line. I used the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die, the Wonderfall Stamp set and coordinating Autumn Accents Bigz Die, and a few Naturals designer Buttons. A really fast, easy page to put together...love that!

    Just for you...

Washi tape seems to be all the rage, and I wanted to create my own version of it, Stampin' Up! style. This is what I came up with... just for you! This card uses all 5 of the new In Color ink along with 5 different stamp sets (6 actually, if you include the saying!) and the new Dahlias, which are just so cute! And twine, which I'm beginning to think most of my projects aren't complete without it! The light wasn't so great for picture taking, but there you have it! Thanks for looking!

    Nearly A Month...

...since I've posted anything! Yikes! Well, summer is always a little crazy here, with the campground running full tilt and people always needing something! Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that yes, I am planning on doing a card class, which will include 5 different cards (masculine, thinking of you, flowers, antique, and fall). I will post details of the cards at another time, since i don't have pics at the moment! But you"ll be disappointed if I don't show you SOMETHING, right? Ok, I'll leave you with this... its a card I saw on Connie Babbert's bog, InkspiredTreasures.com. I think it's incredibly cute, and so very appropriate for the start of another school year. Thanks for the inspiration, Connie!

    Scrapbook pages from April's crop

    Blown In

    Snow Much Fun

    Luke 's Flowers

I got to attend an evening at my friend Alanna's crop way back in the spring. Which was a great time! Then,  not long after I took pictures of the layouts I finished (without uploading them, of course) my camera disappeared. My youngest munchkin was taking pictures and conveniently "disappeared it". My oldest, on his birthday, no less, made it appear again. Magic DOES happen in this house! So now I've added a few photos to my computer's memory in hopes of not losing them again!

So. Here are the three layouts I finished that spring evening! "Blown In" tells a bit of the story of how we were snowed in for 4 days, yes 4! A good friend helped get us "un-snowed", but within 1.5 hours, we were blown in again! What a crazy time!

"Snow Much Fun" is all about exactly that...fun behind Dad's quad...especially on a snow-rider! Of course, just because there's one boy riding, doesn't mean there shouldn't be 3 more on the quad with Dad. Right? Of course! Can't do anything around this place without at least 3 spectators!

Luke's flowers...one of my favorite photos of my youngest munchkin. I had been given flowers for my birthday and he needed to smell them. Love the way he used to smell things...big breath in (through the mouth), then a big blow out the nose! Awfully cute!

    Have a great day!

    New Ink Pads!

    Good Day All!

Thought you might like an update on our new ink pads. The new firm foam is great. I can say that with experience backing me up! I've bought and used a few colors now, and I have to say that I do like them! There's no need to switch all your ink pads over to the new kind. Just remember when you order a new color, it will come in the new firm foam design. If you're getting re-inkers, they're still fine to use on the old pads, but you won't want to use the old re-inkers on the new pads. Check out what SU has to say about them below...

     Firm Foam Stampin' Pads

With the introduction of the 2012-2013 annual catalogue, we have made a very big change to our Stampin' Pads.
Introducing firm foam pads! They change your stamping experience for the better.
We know you're going to love these new Stampin' Pads--just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
    • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
    • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
In addition, our new Stampin' Pads
    • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often.
    • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
    • Come with colour name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)-just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
    • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
    • Are available in all colours, including our exclusive In Colors!
Let your customers know about these exciting changes to our Stampin' Pads. Be sure to have at least one on hand so your customers can see and experience for themselves the improved quality of our Stampin' Up! Stampin' Pads.
Please note: Five ink colours have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and colour stability with the new firm foam pads. These colours are
    • Basic Black
    • Basic Gray
    • Marina Mist
    • Perfect Plum
    • Tempting Turquoise
All five colours of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin' Pads is fine, we do not recommend using the old ink formula in the new firm foam pads. Any refills purchased after April 30, 2012, will contain the new formulated ink*.

    Happy Monday Everyone!

So... today's post has nothing to do with scrapbooking...obviously! I found this pic on pinterest and immediately fell in love! Just imagine all the great smells and family/friends in this kitchen! Love it!

    Monday, 7 May 2012

    Is it scrap day?

I got thinking that really I don't post enough on here! If this was a personal blog, I could tell you all sorts of things, since my 4 boys don't tend to stop doing and changing and being typical boys. But since this is s'posed to be a crafty sort of blog, and I don't get to craft every day or sometimes not even every week, I don't always have a lot to share. Buuuut, I got thinking that really it wouldn't hurt me to try to blog once a week! Right? Right. Well. OK so maybe I'll try it. See what kind of crafty thing I can share...

This was a layout I made a few weeks ago, actually, with strictly Stampin' Up! product. Whisper white Cardstock, Attic Boutique DSP, Attic Boutique Side Notes, Serif Essentials Alphabet Die, and Early Espresso ink. Just a simple layout. I like that kind! Only took a few minutes to make, but I did get in a few crafty minutes that week! Anyone have a simple sketch to share with me?

    Friday, 4 May 2012

    Another Layout...

    Hey All!

The odd time I do get to scrapbook, I don't generally take pictures! This LO was for the Design Team at Scrapbooks Made Simple last month.

Very quiet colors, which I don't tend to gravitate towards! Was good for me to really have to think outside my box! I used Tim Holtz crackle paint on both the strips above and below the photos. Also on the chipboard embellishment on the bottom corner. There's no title or journaling on this yet, but for those of you who worry about those things, a LO is never complete for me until they've been added!

    Make it a great day!

    Tuesday, 17 April 2012

Ok isn't this the greatest lil verse? Someone had emailed it to me a long while ago, and I'd forgotten all about it. Until today, when I was searching online and came across it again. Love it! And had to share it!

    Monday, 16 April 2012

    Going, Going...

...not quite gone, and never to be forgotten. Well, at least some of the stamp sets that are on the Retired List for 2012 have that title! The long-awaited list is out! There are a few that I was very surprised to see on the list. Others, not so much! Would you like a gander at the list? Be my guest! Just click on the link below...

    Enjoy shopping!

    About time?...

... I posted again? I'm back with a few things actually! First up is the projects we made at our Feb SU Club. I had been asked what to do with ribbon scraps...so we made a 12x12 page which uses up quite a few 2" pieces. Then a card using itty bitty pieces and chipboard. A great way to use up both bits of leftovers!

    Scrapbooking with scraps

    3x3 card with scraps

Next up is some more pages I finished in Jan for the load challenge.

    Basic Gray Feb kit

leftovers from another Basic Gray kit

Bren & Bri & boys winter 2010 using Bo Bunny

My only niece (so far!) using Design Team supplies from my LSS Scrapbooks Made Simple

    More Bo Bunny

    CASE'd using SU supplies.

So that's enough for me today! Let me know which is your favorite! And have a GREAT day!
